CIELTECH and SigniFlow Digital Signatures
To ease businesses’ pain points amid an entirely new normal forced by the global Covid-19 pandemic, SigniFlow and cybersecurity solutions providers CIEL Lebanon sarl & CIELTECH LLC have joined forces to empower businesses in the Middle East with digital tools that enable remote, contactless B2C and B2B transactions.
Established in South Africa – one of the largest ICT markets in Africa – in 2013 – SigniFlow delivers cryptographic digital signature and document workflow solutions to businesses across the world. Having gone global in 2018, deployment of the home-grown solution mushroomed in 2020, when circumstances dictated businesses make the move to digital, quickly and completely.
As a result of Covid-19, countries across the world and in the Middle East have witnessed some of the most seismic shifts in their economies, societies and environment over the past 18 months. Middle East governments have launched ambitious national transformation plans, with a major focus on enabling ICT and Digital Transformation technologies, to address their own challenges.
While it is a well-known fact that digital transformation helps businesses cut costs, improve productivity, and communicate with customers around the world, Covid-19 turned the natural evolution to digital on its head.
It is no longer a case of business needs driving a gradual move to digital. A quick shift from manual person-in-person dealings – to wholly digital, contactless way of working and transacting – is now crucial, and the primary aim of companies globally.
In the past, digital and electronic signature solutions* have been limited to a few major competing global vendors, but the partnership between CIELTECH and SigniFlow changes that. The powerful alliance makes SigniFlow’s digital signature technology – which has become a crucial component of business today – available to multiple solutions providers.
Chairman and President of CIELTECH, the Honourable Dr Salah Rustum, says the collaboration with SigniFlow is a milestone. “[The partnership is] the cornerstone for generations to come. The solid ground this teamwork and partnership is built on has primed the company to open new horizons for the region, in terms of going digital by adding high-level signatures, along with UAE Pass and similar decrees of the MENA region”.
Bringing powerful workflow functionality and ease of document distribution to automate any business process, SigniFlow can be deployed as a SaaS cloud-based or on-premise solution.
Director of Sales and Development for SigniFlow in the Middle East, Greig Orrell, says the partnership opens significant opportunities for digital growth in the Middle East. “While e-signatures are being widely used in the US and Europe, the adoption of e-signature technology in the Middle East has been less prevalent. Our partnership with CIELTECH allows us to deploy our digital signature platform in the Middle East, and keep personal data safely in the region. This emphasises the solution’s core qualities of security and compliance, along with the advanced integrations with local Digital ID and Electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) programs.”
* Electronic vs digital signatures: Definition in brief
A digital signature is a more secure type of electronic signature that offers inherent security via cryptography. When a document is signed with a digital signature, the signature links a “fingerprint” of the document to the signer’s identity.
